Violinmaking Pt. 3

Annette has been Very Patient – and also great at making sure all the surfaces are flat and perfect. So much perfection needed! We’ve been finishing and gluing corner blocks, then bending the ribs, which is pure terror. We’ve now glued in the C bout ribs, and shall be hopefully finishing the rest of the ribs this week.

I didn’t break anything, in fact have been surprising myself with taking things slowly. The summer light has opened up the workshop, which is so beautifully laid out by Annette. I’m particularly relishing the seedlings rocketing in the windowsill and natural light upon the surfaces.
