Violin Making Part 1

I’ve started making my violin with Annette Voll of The Violin Workshop, who also freelances at my work, The Stringed Instrument Co. part time.

First lesson – linings…making these little strips of wood at 1.8mm thick…planing, planing o so carefully…these will go around the ribs to provide extra contact gluing points for the back and belly, and also to support structure of ribs…

Next step was making my own plane level…no photos as yet as it was just me sanding the bloody thing for two hours.
